In western medicine, restless legs cannot be treated and their remedies are taking vitamin B as they attribute the condition to the nervous system. They also advise gentle exercise so it’s not relatively easy to treat.
In TICM, I actually attribute the root cause to the Heart and Lungs but more importantly something we call the Righteous Qi (energy). Restless legs and sleep apnoea tend to go hand in hand. One of the solutions for restless legs is simple: tap the legs and feet to warm the body ensuring free flow of Blood and Vital Energy. Remember, the body flow from the legs has to work against gravity going back up to the Heart and blockages, stagnation etc will cause things such as restless legs and hyper/hypotension.
