Yao Tong Dian literally means lumbar pain point. This point includes two acupressure points instead of one. Both points are found on each hand. It is also known as EX-UE7.
Location: the points are located between the second and third metacarpal bones and between the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones, in the midway between the wrist crease and knuckle joint.
Treats: lower back pain, back strain, sciatic pain, lumbago. You can massage these points even if you do not have any back problems, as they can help lubricate your back and prevent injury, especially if you sit at the computer all day or have to stand all day.
You may feel sharp pain at this point if you have back pain, if so, start off with gentle pressure and gradually increase to more firm pressure as the pain alleviates.
How to: press on each point for 30 seconds - 1 minute up to 3 times daily on both hands. Drink ginger powder tea after your massage, this will help flush out toxins and reduce inflammation.
