Strengthen Lungs

Writer: Jahanara MonafJahanara Monaf

Our Lungs hold our sadness and grief. If you have symptoms like persistent cough and easily sick, you can use this point to strengthen your Lungs and expel what no longer serves you.

In TICM, each organ is partnered with another, as a Yin-Yang, moon-sun, female-male balance. The Lungs (Yin) are partnered with the Large Intestine (Yang).

Our Lungs take in the new and the Large Intestine expelling the old waste. In many cases of severe and excess grief and sadness, disorders can arise in both the Lung and Large Intestine. Our will to be open and let in the new when one chapter ends and let go to which no longer serve us is not only vital to our emotional stability but our physical bodies.

Lung 7 (LU7) is known as Broken Sequence in English and is located above the wrist on the inside of the arm. To find this point, interlock your thumb and index finger of one hand with those of the other, the point lies on the edge of the index finger, in a depression between the sinew and the bone.

LU7 helps conditions:

Exterior Wind - body aches, chills/fever, runny nose, scratchy throat, sneezing.

Internal Wind - bell's palsy, twitching, spasms, lockjaw.

Emotional - sadness and grief.

More - persistent cough, sore throat, headaches, migraines, and most head/neck pain conditions.

Rub for 2-3 minutes daily and repeat on both sides.
