Oral health

Periodontal disease is an infection of the tissues, gums, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone surrounding the teeth. The earliest stage of periodontal disease is gingivitis, an infection of the gums. In more severe forms of the disease, all the tissues become involved, even the jawbone. This is an inflammatory condition that is typically caused by poor oral hygiene habits that allow plaque to build up over time and harden. If you are experiencing an imbalance in the gut, you are more susceptible to experiencing it in your mouth. The pathogen Heat, which is like inflammation, is often the culprit in this type of imbalance, the accumulation of Heat hinders the natural process of digestion. Each patient is treated differently as their underlying constitution shifts how the accumulation of Heat affects the overall system. Using TICM treatments can be very beneficial in the healing and controlling of periodontal disease. It is possible for the gums to regenerate with properly prescribed Chinese herbs and dental care. Though TICM does call for more of an overall commitment to balance the root problem, in the end, it provides amazing results for the entire body, not just the mouth. Acupuncture is great to smooth the flow of vital energy (Qi) and reduce inflammation in the Spleen and Stomach. It can also help alleviate associated pain in the mouth or jaw. Please check back on my posts on Spleen and use those tips to strengthen your gut. Or talk to your physician. Dental issues can be resolved at home. Cloves and ginger are powerful herbs used in TICM formulations for dental issues. We do not believe in root canals as you are literally left with a hallow tooth and majority of the time, dentists do not actually pull out all the infected roots. In addition, later on other health issues can arise especially with digestive, Stomach, Spleen and Pancreas health but no one actually thinks to relate it with root canals.
