Body batteries
The Kidney system is the battery of our body, its essence critical for growth and development holding our reserve energy that is inherited from our parents, called our ancestral energy (Qi). The normal aging process will see both vitality and essence decrease. But many people see this drain quicker.
Symptoms of premature aging like early grey hair, joint pain, bone issues, dental problems, hearing troubles and sexual dysfunction are all treated through the Kidneys. They are the organ system responsible for our growth, maturation, and reproduction. When we burn our energy too hard and too fast, the Kidney system suffers. Some symptoms which signal Kidney energy is imbalanced:
Bladder: frequent urination or urination issues. Ears: deafness, tinnitus, ear infections. Bone: osteoporosis, dental issues, joint pain, lower back or knee pain, developmental issues. Fear: severe panic attacks, anxiety, and fear. Salt: cravings for salty foods. Time: 3pm-5pm is Bladder and 5pm-7pm is Kidney. Weakness during this time is often felt if your Kidney energy is low. Wintertime is the season correlated to the Kidneys. You can recharge them and take good care starting with going to bed early and not burning the candle at both ends. Bone broth is important to consume as the Kidney loves salty flavour and is connected to bones. Wild fish, sardines, oysters, and anything that lives in the sea like seaweed: Kidney beans, black beans, sesame seeds, grass-fed organ meats, squashes, potatoes, mushrooms especially wood ear mushrooms, peas, and other seasonal foods are important to incorporate, too. Use acupressure on your ears to help increase Kidney energy. Rub them for 5 minutes every day. Stomp your feet, slowly and with flat feet, for about 5 minutes a day to stimulate Kidney energy. Kidney and Bladder meridians run through the heel and to the sole of the foot.
