So many people are constitutionally deficient or have become deficient through chronic illnesses or even what we are going through in the world today. The following is an amazing recipe I invite everyone to cook up and enjoy as a snack or even meals. For the first time it does not involve ginger!!!
Black rice (Or sweet black rice)
Black rice and lotus seed congee, simple, mild, well balance, it can strengthen all organs, especially Kidney, Spleen, and Heart. It is calming, helps smooth flow of Qi in meridian, it benefits jing and brain, helps insomnia, protect Stomach and intestines. The black rice will act as a blood tonic too.
-soak 1/4 cup of dry lotus seed, 1/2 cup of black rice for 3-4 hours.
-discard the soaking water add 3-4 cup of water, bring to boil, then simmer until consistency of pudding or more watery, depends on how you like it. Add honey to your taste if you need to or use sweet black rice.
- eat this in-between meals, or eat as breakfast.
