Intuition: use it or lose it

I always tell people to trust themselves. If you are uncomfortable with something, do not go there. If you feel uncomfortable eating or drinking from someone, don’t. If your body tells you not to go to a particular persons home or near them, keep away. Often, I receive comments like "how do I know if I'm making the right decision?" or "how can I trust myself?". Though it feels like we may have lost connection with ourselves or may not necessarily refer to ourselves as spiritual, we do not need a crystal ball to access what is divinely ours. We are all spiritual, we are all full of Spirit, it is only a matter if we choose to connect to it or not.

In certain moments we can feel pressured to make a decision and the "right" decision at that. This is when we can mistake the feeling of urgency and ego with our innate intuition. The right direction is really the direction that is aligned with our being and should not really be categorised as good or bad, it is just whatever direction your soul needs to go in.

Intuition is a process that gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic reasoning, bridging the gap between the conscious and nonconscious parts of our mind, and also between instinct and reason.

Intuition is calm. Your mind contains a lot of noise and unnecessary chatter that is distracting and disruptive. That is why practices such as meditation, Qigong, breathwork, chanting, grounding, salaah, etc help the mind. They create peace for the mind, therefore for the entire being allowing a clear connection between the Heart and mind.

The feelings felt when you are connected to your intuition are trust, stillness, calmness, peace, clarity, Love, kindness, forgiveness and faith.

TICM practices like acupuncture, cupping, herbs, emotional therapy, Qigong and Tai chi exist to create wholeness or oneness of the body with special harmony to the external environment mirroring that environment from the external to the internal and vice versa. Next time you need to think, take a walk in nature or gaze up at the night sky and I am sure you will feel a sense of knowing and be able to approach life with more ease and clarity, on the path of following your intuition.
